FACULTY OF EDUCATION IN JAGODINA
Faculty of Education in Jagodina continues a very long tradition of teacher education in Jagodina. The Teacher-Training School, which was founded in 1898, was in 1972 transformed into the Teacher-Training College, then in 1993 into the Faculty of Teacher Education, and, finally, into the Faculty of Education. The Faculty offers study programmes for acquiring qualications of class teacher, preschool teacher and boarding-school teacher. The Faculty has about 60 university teachers and 1800 students.
Throughout its history, the Faculty of Education in Jagodina has aimed at establishing, nurturing and developing cooperation with other universities, both in the country and abroad, as well as other international organizations that are engaged in the higher education field. The Faculty has participated in a number of international projects and developed a wide cooperation network with European universities and institutions of higher education.
The Faculty of Education in Jagodina is the leader in reforming teacher education in Serbia and currently has signed cooperation agreements with 6 universities in Europe, the partners in Erasmus plus programme.
The Faculty publishes the prestigious scientific journal Uzdanica (the first issue appeared in 1939), categorised as a journal of national significance (M51). Uzdanica, journal for the Serbian language, literature, art and pedagogical sciences, publishes original research and review articles and it is indexed in the MLA (Directory of Periodicals) and received a positive review for indexing in the ERIH plus database.
