International Conference Teaching English to Young Learners

Faculty of Education in Jagodina, University of Kragujevac, Serbia, has organised three international conferences dedicated to the field of teaching English to young learners (TEYL). The conferences have been held biennially since 2008, focusing on a specific topic within the field of teaching English to children:

1st conference Responding to Diversity in TEYL, held in 2008;
2nd conference Content and Language Integrated Learning in TEYL, held in 2010;
3rd conference Integrating Culture and Language Teaching in TEYL, held in 2012.  

4th International Conference Teaching English to Young Learners: Assessment and Learning will be held at the Faculty of Education in Jagodina, Serbia, on 5th – 6th June 2015. The conference aims to shed more light on various aspects of assessment in TEYL. We therefore invite proposals from researchers, scholars and practitioners in, but not restricted to, the following thematic areas:

• Assessment of language skills in TEYL
• Assessment strategies in TEYL
• Assessment and culture in TEYL
• Assessment and motivation in TEYL
• Assessment and differentiation in TEYL

It is our pleasure to inform you that the Conference has been included in the list of activities of the new AILA (International Association of Applied Linguistics) Research Group for Early Language Learning (3-12 years) for the period 2015-2017.

We invite participants both with and without presentations. Please send your speaker proposal forms (presenters) and registration forms (participants without presentations) by email to teyl2015@gmail.com.

• March 1, 2015 – deadline for sending speaker proposals
• March 30, 2015 – deadline for receiving notification of acceptance
• May 25, 2015 – deadline for sending registration forms (participants without presentations)
